Yes, I too left home when I was 16 years old, and stay with aunt Roselind in Tabuan. I stayed in her place for two years and attended my forms 4 & 5 at SMK Kuching Town (1979 - 80). The two years of being away from mum and dad really taught me how to be independent. By 1981, once again I was on my own, when I worked as a temporary teacher. Now, besides Dom moving out, my daughter, Fionula Connie Duie is staying with her in-laws in Kuching. Both she and her husband are now working. Thanks a lot, Oli, for your comforting words. I met long lost friends from 20 years ago, whole bunch of them. It's a good way to keep in touch and keep the friendship alive as everyone is pretty much busy with stuff ie. kids, work.
